Un cuerpo resonante es la clave para abrirse al -siempre- cambiante mundo, dentro y fuera de nosotros...Disfrutemos del caos. <br />La propuesta contempla tres horas de búsqueda, un viaje hacia una nueva lectura del propio cuerpo y de éste en comunicacion con el contexto, con el universo que lo circunda y con el propio. <br />A partir del lenguaje del Butoh, intentaremos ingresar a un estado nuevo, agitar para despertar, colgar para dejarnos llevar. Las palabras se convierten en una guía, hasta que el cuerpo encuentre su propio lenguaje. <br />Una primer parte del trabajo se concentra en la preparación física, poner a punto nuestra herramienta, para un cuerpo en su total disponibilidad. <br />Y desde este estado de presencia entrar en segundo estadio, la improvisación, dejarse atravesar por el caos...romper pre-conceptos, borrar toda imagen preexistente de un cuerpo danzando y dejarse llevar, perderse. Desde pequeño este se educó en el arte de la música, la trayectoria de Jerry ha sido inclinada a la música tradicional folclorica. Desde joven se ha desarrollado entre algunos de los grandes exponentes de esta música como don Rafael Cepeda, Marcial Reyes, Tomas Flores, Ramón Pedraza entre otros. Hoy por hoy es uno de los mejores discípulos de Marcial Reyes, Tomás Flores, del patriarca de la bomba y la plena don Rafael Cepeda y de algunos de sus hijos. Después de la partida de sus maestros y amigos, se ha dedicado a preservar la tradición y el folclor de Puerto Rico. Este folclorista contemporáneo es un defensor de la cultura puertorriqueña y un serio estudioso de nuestras raíces. En la bomba, ha cantado con “Los Hermanos Ayala” de Loíza, “La Familia Cepeda” y su propio grupo que fundó y dirigió “Balancé” hoy día “Los Rebuleadores de San Juan”. En el año 2007, se le dedicó la Competencia de Bomba del pueblo de Loíza. Ha brindado múltiples talleres de bomba a grandes y chicos, tanto teoría, técnica instrumental del barril de bomba, como también la historia del género. Ademas se ha distinguido como compositor, toca todos los tambores y es cantador. Ha estudiado este género alrededor de la isla. Los bomberos y bomberas ancianos son las figuras claves para el aprendisaje de este musico. Toda esta trayectoria, le otorga a Jerry una distinción especial entre los músicos del género. El amor genuino por Puerto Rico y por su cultura, la vitalidad y energía de la interpretación de este músico son precisamente sus características más sobresalientes. Es egresado de la Universidad de Puerto Rico de la escuela de pedagogía con concentración en música, teatro e historia.
